Lesedi, The Goddess of the Moon

Third Sister to the Celestial Triad, she is also called by the people of earth as "The Three-Faced Goddess".

Lesedi is believed to uphold the Law and Order of the universe; every secret, every knowledge, and every whisper in the dark she knows and hears.

From ancient texts, She is described to be aloof, but sharp and cunning.

According to historical texts, praying to Lesedi may grant the worshipper guidance, or seldomly, an answer.

The people believed that Lesedi's two floating faces, also known as "Phases",  are embodiments of Lesedi's inner thoughts and feelings. They represent both Mind and Heart, Logic and Empathetic. The Phases are what help her bring judgement upon those who attract...too much attention, and bring an imbalance to the natural order of the world, or their universe.

It is best, I believe, to not draw her attention, as if one enrages of The Goddess of the Moon, one's soul, memory, and existence will be completely erased as though they were never born in the first place.

The Celestial Triad

The Celestial Triad, consisting of Lesedi (The Moon Goddess), Ameya (The Dark Mother), and Eilidh (The Sun Goddess) is an illustration project of mine I started in 2022. It explores the concept of celestial objects and elements as Goddesses.

Lesedi is the smart, wise but cold sister of the three. She upholds how the universe fundamentally works and knows the very physics and inner workings of it. The two sisters have only an inkling of how everything works, all they know it just 'does'. Lesedi's very presence is what keeps the universe in order, and her continued presence will make sure that nothing will be just "black and white", or "good or evil". If too much darkness shall arise, light shall get rid of the excess, and vice versa.

Her concept initially stemmed from my fascination with the moon and its phases, personifying the moon as a deity. Her story, however, comes after when I continued the Celestial Deities project. The crown in her forehead and her hair being galaxies is her main feature, after all she holds all knowledge of the universe.
